Offsetting the Affordability Crisis: The Untapped Potential of DPA

60 minutes

Categories: Down Payment Assistance | Guest Speaker

Is down payment assistance (DPA) actually making an impact in a brutal housing market? The answer is a resounding “yes”.

Down Payment Resource®, the housing industry authority on homebuyer assistance program data and solutions, recently partnered with the Urban Institute to analyze 2022 HMDA data and DPA data from the 10 largest metropolitan statistical areas (MSAs). Among the findings, 43.6% of purchase loans were potentially DPA-eligible, and a staggering 30.7% of declined loans could potentially have been salvaged with DPA.

Listen in as Down Payment Resource shares their unique research and insights to help provide a fresh perspective on the current state of DPAs and the increasing importance of these programs in current and future markets.
